This four piece heavy alternative rock band has certainly got the formula down for writing stuck-in-your-head tunes as exemplified by this "lighter" track off of their self-titled CD. The band features Paul Sellers on lead vocals and guitars, Matt Murphy on guitars and vocals, Wil Pelly on bass and vocals, and Nick Barrale on drums and vocals. Together for four years, the band has toured through the Caribbean, Alaska, the Midwest, and throughout their hometown of St. Louis, MO, where they made a fan out of Cardinal's slugger Mark McGwire. They're currently in the studio working on their next CD. This North Hollywood quartet has recorded and performed together as longtime friends for over five years and possess a great sense of pop musical stylings wrapped up in tight vocal harmonies. Their guitar-driven brand of rock is punctuated by the trading and layering of three voices that blend together well. The band features Joel Burns on guitar, vocals, and keyboards; John Pawlak on guitar, vocals, and optigan; Thomas Gallmeier on drums and percussion; and Willy on bass and vocals. Through the years, they've picked up a growing fan base thanks to their high-energy performances and sing-along antics. Cross the lush stylings of Depeche Mode, the techno edginess of the Chemical Brothers, and throw in a Peter Murphy-esque singer and you've got this hard-edged electronica duet. Born and bred in the shadow of Disneyland, Anaheim vocalist/guitarist Mark Rhodes and keyboardist/sequence programmer Todd MacKenzie have managed to tuck over 150 gigs under their belts locally and abroad. "Burning Inside" was nominated as one of the seven best alternative albums of 1999 by the music organization Just Plain Folks, and the duet have also managed to snag slots on television shows and music conferences.
